NFL Futures Odds
Futures are single wagers placed now on the outcomes of events, which are determined, obviously enough,
at sometime in the future. Usually futures bets are represented by basic, fixed odds (although sometimes a
moneyline or a multiplier may be featured) with your payout being dictated by those posted odds. Futures bets are
common for something like the NFL Championship, Stanley Cup, or MLB World Series. These bets are fun because with
one bet you can have a vested interest in an entire season.
Below are the futures odds offered by the
Bodog SportsBook.
Odds presented such as 7/1 represents a bet of $1 will win you $7. So, your total payment would be $8, the
$7 you won plus the initial $1 bet. Odds presented as a moneyline may appear like -120 or +240. The negative
amount means that this bet is the favorite to win, and you must bet $1.20 to earn $1 (you would get $2.20 back
total). The positive number, +240, means a bet of $1 will win you $2.40 ($3.40 total would be paid back to you).
